Sanitary installations are just a twist away with Rocket Rack’s new and improved Rod Stripping Tool!
Streamline your Rocket Rod preparations while enhancing accuracy and safety with every installation. Designed for precise and consistent results, the Rod Stripping Tool ensures the correct length of PVC encasement is removed every time, reducing the risk of contamination in hygienic environments and minimizing manual errors. Whether you're working with single or multi-tier racks, the tool simplifies your process, giving you the exact strip length needed to meet food-grade standards and protect your installation from potential hazards.
How It Works
To use the Rod Stripping Tool, start by selecting the length of Rocket Rod’s PVC encasement you need to remove. The tool comes with four preset strip lengths conveniently marked, eliminating any guesswork from the process.
Each preset strip length is also marked with an assembly ID, making it easy to identify the required length for common installation types:
- Single Point Clamp Connection: Use Assembly CC-01
- Multi-tier standard rack installation: Use Assembly SR-01 on both ends of the rod.
- Single-tier standard rack installation: Use Assembly SR-02.
- Multi-tier tented rack installation: Use Assembly TR-01T for the top end and Assembly TR-01B for the bottom end of the rod.
- Single-tier tented rack installation: Use Assembly TR-02.
- Connecting two pieces of Rocket Rod: Use Assembly LR-01 on both ends of the rod.
Refer to the provided table for more details on these assembly types for both 3/8” and 1/2” Rocket Rods.
Assembly ID | Icons | Assembly Type | Description |
---|---|---|---|
CC-01 | Clamp Connection | The CC-01 “Connection Clamp” is ideal for configurations requiring a single-point clamp, commonly used with wall mount assemblies or coming off of a rack when a standoff is not ideal due to height requirement exceeding 4 inches. Compatible clamp options include Sanitary 2-Piece Clamps, PVC Coated Sanitary 2-Piece Clamps, Sanitary Hinged Clamps, and Process Hex Sanitary 2-Piece Clamps. The strip length for this assembly allows for full engagement of the rod into the clamp and does not require the use of a Hex Nut. | |
LR-01 | Long Rod | The LR-01 “Long Rod” connection type is utilized when joining multiple Rocket Rods, typically for drop-downs exceeding 12 feet or when reconnecting previously cut sections. This method ensures extended reach and secure connections utilizing 2 Hex Nuts and a Rod Coupling Nut. | |
TR-01 | Tented Rack Multi-Tier | The TR-01 connection type is designed for constructing multiple tiers of Tented Rack assemblies. It requires the use of two settings on the Rod Stripping Tool: TR-01T for threading the rod at the top of the installation and TR-01B for threading the rod at the bottom. The assembly incorporates a Turned Rod Coupler on the top of the Tented Rack and a Single Bevel Rod Coupling Nut with a Hex Nut on the underside of the rack, ensuring a secure and stable configuration for multi-tiered setups. | |
TR-02 | Tented Rack Single-Tier | The TR-02 connection type is designed for single-tier tented rack installations. It utilizes a Turned Rod Coupler on the top side of the rack and a Hygienic Beveled Cap Nut on the bottom, providing a secure and hygienic solution for streamlined setups. | |
SR-01 | Standard Rack Multi-Tier | The SR-01 connection type is used for constructing multiple tiers of standard rack installations. It requires the SR-01 setting on the Rod Stripping Tool to thread both Rocket Rods. The assembly features a Serrated Flange Nut on the top of the rack and a Rod Coupling Nut with a Hex Nut on the bottom, ensuring a stable and secure multi-tiered structure. | |
SR-02 | Standard Rack Single Tier | The SR-02 connection type is designed for single-tier standard rack installations. It uses a Serrated Flange Nut on the top side of the rack and a Hygienic Beveled Cap Nut on the bottom, providing a secure solution for straightforward, single-tier setups. |
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Insert the Thumb Screw: Choose your desired strip length and insert the thumb screw into the corresponding opening on the Rod Stripping Tool.
- Insert the Rocket Rod: Place a piece of Rocket Rod into the top hole of the tool. Twist the tool, just like an old-fashioned pencil sharpener, to remove the PVC encasement from the rod.
- Stop and Remove: The thumb screw acts as a stop, ensuring that the encasement is removed to the precise length required. Once the PVC is removed, take out the Rocket Rod and dispose of the stripped material.
- Adjust for Different Lengths: Need a different length? Simply remove the thumb screw and insert it into the opening corresponding to your new desired length.
